چکیده

A generalized dynamical theory has been developed that extends previous models of x-ray diffraction from crystals and multilayers with vertical strains to the cases of grazing incidence and/or exit below the critical angle for total specular reflection. This provides a common description for extremely asymmetric diffraction, surface ~‘‘grazing-incidence’’!, and grazing Bragg-Laue diffraction, thus providing opportunities for the applications of grazing geometries to the studies of thin multilayers. The solution, obtained in the form of recursion formulas for ~232! scattering matrices for each individual layer, eliminates possible divergences of the ~434! transfer-matrix algorithm developed previously. For nongrazing x-ray diffraction in the Bragg geometry and for grazing-incidence x-ray specular reflection out of the Bragg diffraction conditions, the matrices are reduced to scalars and the recursion formulas become equivalent to the earlier recursion formulas by Bartels et al. @Acta Cryst. A 42, 539 ~1986!# and Parratt @Phys. Rev. 95, 359 ~1954!#, respectively. The theory has been confirmed by an extremely asymmetric x-ray-diffraction experiment with a strained AlAs/GaAs superlattice carried out at HASYLAB. A solution to the difficulties due to dispersion encountered in extremely asymmetric diffraction measurements has been demonstrated. Finally, the validity of Ewald’s expansion for thin layers and the relation of the matrix method to the Darwin theory, as well as the structure of x-ray standing waves in multilayers are discussed. @S0163-1829~98!05408-3#

Incorporation of interfacial roughness into recursion matrix formalism of dynamical X-ray diffraction in multilayers and superlattices1

Diffraction in multilayers in the presence of interfacial roughness is studied theoretically, the roughness being considered as a transition layer. Exact (within the framework of the two-beam dynamical diffraction theory) differential equations for field amplitudes in a crystalline structure with varying properties along its surface normal are obtained. An iterative scheme for approximate solut...

مکانیسم تولید و ویژگی‌های تابش پرتوی ایکس پارامتری حاصل از الکترون‌های نسبیتی در یک بلور

In this paper, the parametric X-ray radiation (PXR) spectral-angular distribution in the framework of the dynamical and kinematical diffraction theory was investigated in details. It is shown that dynamical diffraction effects can be increase with intensity of radiation, increase threshold energy saturation and the change in polarization of the radiation. Therefore, some unique properties of P...

Magnetic Properties and Structural Study of Ni-Co/Cu Multilayers Prepared by Electrodeposition Method

Ni-Co/Cu multilayers have been grown by electrodeposition method from a single electrolyte (based on Ni(SO4).6H2O, Co(SO4).7H2O, Cu(SO4) and H3BO3) using galvanostatic control on titanium sublayers. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns confirmed the multilayered structure with the nanometer thicknesses. Also, electron diffraction x-ray (EDX)  analysis confirmed the purity of deposited samples. ...

Molecular relaxation and microscopic structure of multilayers and superlattices of a photosensitive liquid-crystalline polymer.

We report a detailed study of photoinduced changes in the microscopic structure of monolayers, multilayers, and superlattices of a photosensitive side chain liquid crystalline polymer, deposited by the Langmuir-Schaefer technique. We probe both out-of-plane and in-plane ordering and its changes due to optical pumping of the trans-cis photoisomerization transition of the azobenzene side chain in...
